KEIBUL LAMJAO NATIONAL PARK, MANIPUR

Keibul Lamjao National Park is a national park in the Bishnupur district of Manipur.

An integral part of Loktak Lake of Manipur, Keibul Lamjao (40 Km² in area) is the only floating park in the world.

It is characterized by circular accretions of floating decomposed plant material called 'phumdi'.

It is the natural habitat of the endangered Brow Antlered Deer also known as 'Sangai'.

DHIKALA GRASSLANDS (CORBETT NATIONAL PARK)

Dhikala grasslands or 'Dhikala chaur' as they are locally known, cover about 10 km² in the core area of Jim Corbett Tiger Reserve.

It is one of the biggest grasslands in Asia.

Sizeable populations of the endangered Royal Bengal Tiger, Asiatic Elephant and critically endangered species such as Gharial are found in Dhikala.

It is considered as the potential relocation site for One-Horned Rhinoceros from Kaziranga.

KANGER GHATI NATIONAL PARK, CHHATTISGARH

Name 'Kanger ghati' is derived from Kanger river valley, cut by Kanger river flowing through the length of the national park.

Kanger Valley got the status of national park in 1982.

Flora - Mixed humid deciduous forests having Sal, Sagaun, teak and bamboo trees.

Fauna - Bastar Myna, is a type of Hill myna, which is capable of emulating human voices. It is the state bird of Chattisgarh.

Kanger ghati national park has is well known for its subterranean (underground) limestone caves.

It has three exceptional caves having stalactite and stalagmite formations - Kutumbsar, Kailash and Dandak.

Tirathgarh Waterfall is located in Kanger Ghati National Park.

BLACKBUCK NATIONAL PARK

Blackbuck National Park at Velavadar is situated in the Bhavnagar District of Gujarat.

It has the largest population of blackbucks in India.

Monitoring of Illegal Killing of Elephants (MIKE) Programme

MIKE Programme was established by a CITES Resolution adopted at the CoP-10 in 1997.

MIKE is an international collaboration that measures the levels, trends and causes of elephant mortality.

MIKE’s information base is used to support international decision-making related to the conservation of elephants in Asia and Africa.
