TIN BIGHA CORRIDOR

The Tin Bigha Corridor is a strip of land belonging to India on the West Bengal–Bangladesh border which, in September 2011, was leased to Bangladesh so the country could access its Dahagram–Angarpota enclave from the mainland.

The enclave remains the only one still in existence after the 2015 resolution of the India-Bangladesh enclaves issue. It is situated in the town of Patgram Upazila.

Tin Bigha corridor was previously open for 12 daylight hours only, causing great hardships for the inhabitants of the enclave, given the fact that the enclave has no hospitals or law enforcement facilities.

Following a treaty signed by the Prime Ministers of India and Bangladesh on 6 September 2011 in Dhaka, it was agreed that the corridor would be open for 24 hours for Bangladeshis in the enclave to access the mainland.

Que 3. Claim over Susta territory is an ongoing, unresolved dispute of India with

SUSTA TERRITORY

Susta is a disputed territory between Nepal and India.

It is administered by India as part of West Champaran district of Bihar. It is claimed by Nepal as part of Susta rural municipality, under West Nawalparasi District in Lumbini Province.

The disputed territory is located on the eastern side of the Gandak river (Narayani River in Nepal).

According to the Treaty of Sugauli signed between British East India Company and Nepal in 1816, Gandak river is the international boundary and eastern part of the river belongs to India and western part of the river belongs to Nepal.

At the time the treaty was signed Susta village was situated west of the river. But, over the years, the Gandak river changed its course and Susta moved to the east side of the river, that is now on the Indian side of the river.

Nepal maintains the Gandak's course in 1816 to be taken as the fixed international boundary but India claims that land on the eastern side of the river is its own territory.

Que 4. Area disputed with Myanmar is

KABAW VALLEY

Kabaw Valley also known as Kubo valley, is a highland valley in Myanmar's western Sagaing division, close to the border with India's Manipur.

For the greater part of 18th century, the Kabaw Valley unquestionably belonged to Manipur and it was never in any sense a Burmese province.

But the British ceded Kabaw Valley to the Burmese in 1834, through the Treaty of Yandaboo signed after the second Anglo-Burmese War.

British granted ₹500 monthly stipend as compensation to Manipur for the loss of Kabaw Valley.

The treaty also provided that if it at any time the Kabaw Valley be reverted to Manipur, the payment would be stopped from the date of reversion.

The King and Ministers of Manipur wanted the retrocession of Kabaw Valley, which did not take place.

Manipur Maharaja continued to receive the Kabaw Valley compensation up to 1947, when the transfer of power took place. During this period, there was some move to raise the question of retrocession of Kabaw Valley to Manipur.

But after independence, diplomatic considerations led to the dropping of the Kabaw Valley topic. Thus, Manipur lost her old territory, the Kabaw Valley. Kabaw Valley is still a question which touches the sentiment of the people of Manipur. It deprives Manipur from access to large forests of teak wood.
