Answer: [B]

The Himalayas are spread over almost all the northern and north-eastern states of India. Hence, Statement 1 is incorrect.

Western Ghats traverse through 6 States of India - Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu. Hence, Statement 2 is also incorrect.

Pulicat Lake - the second largest brackish water lake in India, straddles the border of Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu states. Hence, Statement 3 is correct.

KALSUBAI PEAK

Location : Western Ghats (Sahyadri), Maharashtra.

Elevation : 1,646 metres (5,400 ft)

It is the highest point in Maharashtra.

DHUPGARH PEAK

Highest point of Mahadeo Hills (Satpura Range), Madhya Pradesh.

Elevation : 1,352 metres (4,429 ft).

Pachmarhi Hill station is located close to the peak.

GURU SHIKHAR

Location : It is a peak in the Arbuda Mountains of Rajasthan.

Elevation : 1,722 metres (5,650 ft).

It is the highest point of Aravalli Range, located 15 km from Mount Abu.

KOILWAR BRIDGE

India's oldest river bridge Koilwar bridge over Son river at Koilwar in Bhojpur.

This 1.44 Km long rail-cum-road bridge connects Arrah with Patna in Bihar.

It is presently the oldest operational railway bridge in India standing since 04 November 1862.

Why in News ?

New Koilwar Bridge

A new 1.52 Km long, six-lane road bridge, parallel to the existing Koilwar Bridge was inaugurated by Union Minister Nitin Gadkari on 10 December 2020.

KARMANASA RIVER

Karmanasa River is a tributary of Ganga River.

Originates in Kaimur district of Bihar.

Flows through U.P. and Bihar.

Along the boundary between U.P. and Bihar it has Sonbhadra, Chandauli, Varanasi and Ghazipur districts on its left (U.P. side) and Kaimur and Buxar districts on its right (Bihar side).
